College Guidance
Dear Keystone Parent, Student, or Community Member,
Keystone School’s college guidance program is designed
to help students assess their interests and abilities, and to guide
students and families through a thoughtful college selection and application
process. We focus on counseling students and providing a supportive
environment as they plan for their future.
Aspects of the college counseling program include informational meetings
with students and families beginning in Middle School, management of
the school’s part of the applications process, informing students
about appropriate standardized tests, gathering of information about
need and merit-based scholarships, one-to-one counseling of juniors
and their parents, preparation of the college counselor letter and
preparation of recommendation letters required by colleges.
Regardless of the time of year or of the student’s grade level,
Mrs. Elizondo and I are always willing to make individual appointments
with families to discuss future goals, to counsel on standardized testing,
to advise on course, extracurricular and non-school activities, and
to assist in the planning of summer activities and college visits.
I hope you will contact me if you need anything.
Please visit the Naviance
homepage which allows guests to access college
search tools, view college visits to Keystone, and scholarship information.
The guest password is keystone. The college/university visit calendar
is located on the left-hand side of the website under the About
College section. Please visit the Naviance calendar to get complete details
on college visits to the area; many visits that are not on our campus
require on-line registration and the links are on the visit calendar.
Keystone is a member of the National Association for College Admission
Counseling and we follow the Principles of Good Practice laid out by
this association.
Best wishes to the class of 2010!
