HOW DOES IT WORK?

When scientists work in the nanoscale, they can directly affect material properties to make the end product stronger, thinner, lighter, and/or smaller by changing, manipulating, or moving nanoparticles. Also, materials made from nanoparticles have more surface area, which makes them usually more chemically reactive than the material made in a larger scale.

Not only surface area will change. How a material acts when it comes in contact with something like electricity might change. What used to be an insulator might become a conductor, conductors may become insulator, materials may absorb light instead of reflect, etc.
