| Many people may know
some basics of a hard drive, but sometimes you may be often puzzled with
the question of "what is it?" A hard drive is a NVM
(nonvolatile memory) mechanism that stores encoded data.
Nonvolatile memory is computer storage that can keep data even when
powered off.
Hard drives
can be referred to as a couple of different acronyms such as HDD (hard
drive disk) and HD, which simply means hard drive. Early hard drives had
removable media instead of today's sealed hard drives.
Media, in this case, basically means objects on which data can be
stored. Hard drives are now sealed disk drives with no
removable media. |
