Solar powered cars should become some of the cars of the future. They
are energy efficient, cost less to operate in the long run, and they are
eco-friendly. All of these things are traits that future people may
want. Who seriously would want to have a car that you would eventually
not be able to use because all of the oil supplies ran out.
Solar powered cars
have
solar cells
(solar panels) that are often located on the top of the car, where they
will be able to get the most sun light. Solar power that is put into
usable form is taken to a battery that generates all of the power for
the car to operate. The rest of the car is like a normal electric car.
The battery power causes the engine to function and the wheels move.
There is one main problem that all
solar powered cars have. If they run out of battery power, which is
generated from energy from the sun, the car can't work. In other words,
the car won't work if it is driven for too long and there is no sun or
it is a cloudy day. This wouldn't be very good for all of the people
that have to work the night shift, but all of the other features of the
car may make up for it.
