4 Seniors named National Merit Semifinalists
Congratulations to seniors (from left) Niraj, Joanna, Evan, and Alan. They are Keystone’s National Merit Semifinalists this year.
They are among the approximately 16,000 Semifinalists from around the country in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program, out of some 1.3 million students who took the PSAT. Semifinalists are the highest scorers in each of the 50 states and represent less than 1% of each state’s high school seniors.
They have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $30 million that will be offered next spring.
To become Finalists, semifinalists must have an outstanding academic record throughout high school, be endorsed and recommended by a high school official, complete an application, and earn SAT or ACT scores that confirm their earlier performance on the qualifying test.
The Semifinalists will find out in February whether they advance to become National Merit Finalists.
