5th graders test solar cookers
In Science class this week, 5th graders learned about the process of transferring thermal energy, including radiant energy from the sun, and built their own solar cookers.
On a very hot and sunny afternoon, the students tested their designs by setting up and monitoring 100 ml of water in a tin can over the course of 18 minutes.
Between collecting data points, the student ducked into the shade for quick water breaks.
