9th grader named finalist in Broadcom Masters science competition

Congratulations to Joanna, a 9th grader who is one of 30 finalists nationwide for the Broadcom Masters science fair competition.

What’s more, she’s the only finalist from Texas.

The competition, founded and produced by the Society for Science & the Public, recognizes middle school STEM accomplishments in science fairs around the country. Her science fair project was The Effect of Probiotics and Metformin on C. elegans After Treatment in a Hypoxia Chamber Year II.

Joanna will compete in the first ever Virtual Broadcom MASTERS from October 16-October 21 where she will participate in online team challenges in addition to being judged on their science research project.
