Academy of American Poets recognizes 4 sophomores

The Academy of American Poets has recognized 4 sophomores as part of the “Dear Poet” project of National Poetry Month.

This project invites young people in grades five through 12 to write letters in response to poems written and read by award-winning poets.

One of these letters, from 10-grader Ishan to poet Alberto Ríos, is on the academy’s website.

Others letters that will be published later are:

Quincy’s letter to Joy Harjo
Alex’s letter to Marie Howe
Andy’s letter to Ed Madden
