Cardboard Kids aim to bring attention to serious issues

To help bring awareness of the pervasiveness of child abuse, students in grades 4-12 decorated Cardboard Kids and placed them on gates surrounding campus. This is part of a campaign from ChildSafe, a nonprofit that works with children and adolescents who are the victims of physical, sexual or emotional abuse.

The Cardboard Kids are a city-wide public awareness campaign to draw attention to the pervasiveness of the child abuse and the fact that every story is different and every child unique. Each of the kids represent one of the thousands of children that are abused and neglected. The point is to start a conversation about abuse and neglect and how to talk with children about these difficult topics.
