College Board honors Keystone
This is an important award. Keystone is the only private school in San Antonio to receive the recognition, and one of eight schools in the San Antonio area honored. Nationally, we’re one of 818 schools in the United States that achieved this milestone for the 2018-19 school year, out of the 20,000 institutions that offer AP courses.
“In a world like ours today that is characterized by fast paced change, interconnectedness, and intense competition, we must tap into the talents of everyone,” said Mr. Handmaker. “If the US wishes to remain competitive, and our colleges are over 50% women, we simply must have more women enter STEM related fields to produce more engineers, mathematicians, and scientists. We are proud at Keystone to provide a setting where motivated students work with excellent teachers who challenge and support them in a diverse and inclusive environment, and we are proud of our students who go on to succeed in college and throughout their careers. Go Cobras!”
Schools receiving the AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award have achieved either 50% or higher female representation in either Computer Science A or AP Computer Science Principles, or both, or the percentage of female computer science examinees meets or exceeds that of the school’s female population.
