Second Grade Teacher

Keystone school has been a haven for bright, motivated students since 1948. A Keystone student is taught to ask questions, to pursue knowledge, and to love learning. Keystone School seeks a 2nd grade teacher for the 2020-21 school year.  We welcome applicants committed to teaching in an accelerated environment.  Successful candidates will have a passion for teaching 7-8 year-olds as well as an understanding of their developmental needs.

Required qualifications, expectations and experience include:

  • A commitment to Keystone School’s mission.
  • 3-5 years of teaching experience and a deep understanding of the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of elementary school students. 
  • A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers to plan and deliver accelerated, dynamic and relevant instruction in language arts, math, social studies, and science.
  • Help children with organization, problem solving, and conflict resolution to support individual needs.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with parents, teachers, administrators and colleagues.
  • Experience and willingness to integrate technology into the curriculum with intention.
  • Experience with and willingness to embrace the work of Lucy Calkins and the Teachers College Reading Writing Project.  

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience teaching in Independent Schools

High School French Teacher

Successful candidates will have strong experience instructing nearly fully in the target language, possess inspiring pedagogy to build student confidence in conversing in French, and demonstrate a solid foundation in French grammar and Francophone culture.

Required qualifications and experience include:

  • Three to five years French language instruction experience, including AP French
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills in both English and French
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience working with advanced and gifted students
  • Experience teaching a third language

Successful candidates will have demonstrated evidence of successful experience teaching writing and skillful leadership in discussing core literary texts.

Required qualifications and experience include the following:

  • A commitment to Keystone School’s mission,
  • Three to five years English teaching experience at the high school or collegiate level,
  • Proficiency teaching critical thinking, reading, research, and discussion skills,
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, and
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.

Preferred qualifications include the following:

  • Experience working with advanced and gifted students and
  • Proficiency with high school English curricula including AP English Literature.
