Part Time Director of Aftercare

We are searching for a capable and dedicated part-time Director of Aftercare & Enrichment Programs to join our excellent team. The Director of Aftercare & Enrichment Programs is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and implementation of after-school programs designed to enrich the educational and recreational experiences of students. This role includes managing staff, coordinating with school administration, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education or childcare, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for creating engaging and enriching after-school activities.

This is a part-time position, Monday through Friday, with hours between 2:00-6:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the aftercare staff.
  • Coordinate enrichment classes with our outside partners, and align aftercare programs with school policies and objectives.
  • Develop aftercare activities that promote learning, creativity, and physical activity.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise aftercare staff.
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings to update staff with important dates and school information that pertains to Lower School and Middle School aftercare
  • Enforce policies and procedures to maintain a safe and nurturing environment of all students participating in aftercare and enrichment programs.
  • Work in partnership with the Lower and Middle School administrative team to address and resolve any disciplinary issues or conflicts that arise.
  • Act as a liaison between parents, school administration, and program staff.
  • Communicate program goals, schedules, and updates to parents and guardians
  • Oversee the procurement and maintenance of supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Education, Child Development, Recreation, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in educational program management or a related area is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
