Fourth grader recognized for her holiday project
A special shoutout to fourth-grader Pia for her seasonal spirit.
She made and mailed out holiday cards for nursing home residents as part of the Be a Shamash project from the Book Meshuggenahs. That’s a group which promotes Jewish-themed children’s books, educational resources, and opportunities for people of all faiths to share their creativity and good deeds. The project gets its name from the shamash candle, which is the helper candle for the eight candles in a menorah.
For her efforts, she received a certificate and a book by author Nancy Churning.
