Geography Bee winner fares well in other competitions
Ninth-grader Andy — the reigning Keystone champion in the National Geographic GeoBee — tested his geography knowledge over the summer and placed well in two other competitions.
Andy scored sixth place in the International Geography Bee and ninth place in the US Geography Olympiad, both held in Chicago. Both of these are separate from the National Geographic competition.
In each event, Andy competed against some 200 other students on all aspects of geography, including physical, political, cultural, current events, and historical geography.
