Keystone celebrates Diwali
Keystone celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights, this week with colorful activities and plenty of terrific Indian food.
Members of Keystone’s Indian community originally had planned to sponsor the event with help from the Keystone PTO a few weeks ago, but bad weather pushed the date back. Diwali is celebrated by lighting clay lamps or Diyas to signify light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil.
With upbeat Indian music as a soundtrack, students created sand rangoli art, had henna placed on their hands and learned about the significance of Diwali.
