Keystone sweeps civics fair competition

Group of students standing on stage with winning certificatesCongratulations to all the Middle and Upper Schoolers who participated in this year’s Speak Up Speak Out civics fair!

In this competition, students from grades 3-12 focus on a civic issue, conduct research, create solutions, and present them. More than 400 students from 130 different teams took part in this year’s competition, nearly three times the number of competitors from last year.

Keystone swept the competition, earning the top three spots in the middle school division and first place among the high school division.

The winning teams and their projects:

  • Upper School 1st Place: “Girls for Books”; 9th graders Neerja and Nidhi
  • Middle School 1st Place: “School Supplies Support”; 8th graders Nirmal, Alexandra, Brett
  • Middle School 2nd Place: “Student Developed Advisory Lessons”; 7th graders Thiyugee, Isa, Dev, Charlotte
  • Middle School 3rd Place: “Classmate Connections: Creating Company”; 8th graders KK, Pearl, Caroline

The winning students will participate at the state competition on March 1st at UT-Austin
