I want to get a message to Mrs. Greenfield and this is the only way I can think to do it. I was Mrs. Greenfield’s student about 20 years ago and I’ll never forget her. Out of all the educators I have had she stands out tremendously. I have struggled with mental health my whole life and when I had a mental health crisis during my 6th grade year she showed me enormous compassion and it felt like I wasn’t alone because of her. She seemed to be one of the few people in my life at the time who cared enough to listen to me. Thank you Mrs. Greenfield. It’s 20 years later and I was prompted to write this after I was asked if there was anything an educator has done right when it came to helping me with my mental health issues. Mrs. Greenfield immediately came to mind and I felt the urge to reach out somehow and thank her. I’ve never forgotten how she treated me when I was in such a dark place and it is a memory I will cherish forever.
