Middle School students visit Kenya

Fifth and sixth grade students in Mrs. Sobieszczyk’s science classes explored water wells in Kenya with Bob Nicol, a retired civil engineer who lives in San Antonio just a few blocks away from the Keystone campus, when he’s not working in Africa to bring water to communities that don’t have it.

He’s the director of More Water 4 Africa, a nonprofit ministry that works to help rural Africans to obtain safe drinking water. The organization has been drilling wells, repairing pumps, installing rain water harvesting systems and providing sanitary systems for communities, churches, rural schools, and orphanages, in South Sudan, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Liberia and Kenya.

Mr. Nicol spoke with the Keystone students from a site in Kenya, and he showed them water wells and equipment used in drilling wells.
