Rising sophomore bakes to fight racism
Rising sophomore Aleena showed that even during a pandemic, it’s possible to make a difference in the world in a seemingly simple way.
She joined the worldwide effort Bakers Against Racism, an informal international coalition of bakers throughout the world who held a bake sale from June 15-20 to raise money for organizations that work to fight against racism.
She baked more than 300 cookies and macaroons, delivered her orders quickly and donated nearly $500 to the NAACP.
Talk about a sweet bit of summer news.
