Senior’s film wins top prize at arts festival in California

Congratulations to senior Hashim, who created a film that won the top prize at a film festival and arts event of the New Roads School, in Santa Monica, Calif.

Hashim won Best Short Film for his work, “Breathe.” It stars fellow senior Dominic, and Mr. Nutt, who was Keystone’s security director before he left last semester. The five-minute short shows the tragic repercussions of police brutality through the lens of a young man.

The event, “Unfinished Work,” featured works from filmmakers, artists, musicians and orators to examine and advance the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Note: There’s no violence but it’s emotionally intense.

  • Congratulations on your win. Nicely done. Good luck in the future, although you probably won’t need it. Enjoy San Antonio while you’re still there; it’s a great city.
