Upper Schoolers build awareness to period poverty

Upper School students joined activists throughout the country last week to bring awareness to period poverty, a seemingly invisible problem. In period poverty, those who menstruate can’t afford or access essential items such as tampons or pads.

Although San Antonio didn’t hold a citywide rally on Oct. 18, Keystone’s Upper School students came together — young men and women wore red, pinned silver ribbons, and handed out pamphlets on menstrual hygiene.

The Upper School students put considerable effort into advertising the event and planning their photo. It’s another way that Keystone students are working to make a difference.
